Bunnings D & R Dashboard

This dashboard is designed specifically to review performance and stock against planned D&R replenishment. Unlike Product Status, the Live Status is driven from a Product/Store level directly from the D&R Forecast document.

Why this Dashboard Matters

Investigating a few minutes here gives you real actionable payback:

  • Validate D&R forecasts: See balance between what’s already in store vs what’s on the way, and check if it matches your expectations.
  • Plan for seasonal surges: Compare to last years forward 8 weeks, so you are not caught short when demand repeats.
  • Protect sales: Spot lines at risk of going out of stock before it happens.
  • Reduce overstocks: Identify product that have too much stock in store or pipeline
  • Focus on what only matters: Quickly filter to “live with no stack and no forecast” so you don’t waste time on noise

In short, this dashboard helps you get ahead of supply issues, make smarter decisions and spend less time firefighting.

Key Terms Explained

  • Optimum Stock: Stock level you believe should carry to achieve sales potential
  • Based on Weeks Cover (how many weeks of stock you want to hold to absorb sales fluctuations to avoid running out).
  • Formula: Weeks Cover x Average Weekly Sales (at store/product level)
  • Note: When sales are very low or zero, the calculated Optimum Stock may be unrealistically low. Ise Min and Max fields to set sensible limits.
  • The weeks selected for weeks cover, and the number of weeks used for the weekly average sales comes from the Admin > Dashboard Allocator Settings.
  • Average Weekly Sales: Simple calculation = Total Sales ÷ Number of weeks selected.
  • Total Stock = Closing Stock (what’s in store now) + 4-week D&R replenishment forecast.
  • Total Sales = the sum of sales from the weeks selected in Admin > Dashboard Allocator Settings.
  • 4wk D&R Forecast: The next 4 weeks of replenishment from the D&R file. (Elsewhere in krunchbox this appears as SOO – Stock on Order)
  • Stock Under Optimum: Where Total Stock (Closing + 4wk D&R) is less than Optimum Stock. Highlights gaps where stores may already be, or soon may be , understocked.

How to Get the Most from the Dashboard

  • Set your Weeks Cover
  • Use a higher number (e.g. 8) to see maximum desired stock levels.
  • Use a lower number (e.g. 2-4) to model minimum safety stock.
  • Optimum stock does not include lead time requirements.
  • Check What’s Missing: Any store/product with no stock and no sales in the period will not appear here. If you want to view these gaps, use Allocator or the Gap options in Dashboards.
  • Spot Trends from Last Year
  • The Last 8-week Forward View identify whether seasonal demand is about to hit again (e.g. if you’re on Week 10 now, it shows Weeks 11-18 last year).
  • Compare current stock to last year’s sales to check readiness.
  • Review Current vs Forecast
  • Weeks stock on Hand (WSOH) shows how long current stock will last if the current avg persists.
  • WSOH based on Last Year Forward Sales shows how long stock would last if sales repeat last year’s trend.
  • Use this to decide which measure better represents your needs.
  • Focus on Live Gaps
  • Use the Live Status Filter to highlight products currently set to Live, or see Stock holdings where not Live
  • The “Out of Stock + No D&R Forecast” view pinpoints critical risk lines with no pipeline coverage.
