Comparing This Year’s Sales to Last Year
In this guide, you’ll learn how to compare this year’s sales data with last year’s using krunchbox. Whether you prefer visual graphs or detailed reports, these tools provide clear insights into your business performance.
Year on Year Graph Dashboard
The Year on Year Graph Dashboard presents a visual interpretation of your Year on Year sales results.
- Navigation: The Year on Year Graph Dashboard is found in Dashboards at the top of your screen under Business Summaries.
- Content: This dashboard shows Unit Sales, Sales $, and Closing Stock in Units in a year on year trend graph
- Filters within the dashboard
The Year on Year Graph dashboard has filters that allow you to quickly filter your results by Retailer, Category, and Product. You do not need to click Krunch for these filters.
- Year to Date Tab:
Click the next tab to see the year on year monthly data in a table format.
This table displays the variance for each month compared to the same month last year.
Classic Sales Report (0101)
The Classic Sales Report (0101) is a versatile report designed for comparing one time period against another. This report can be ‘drilled down’ to store level giving you the ability to run year on year data for stores as well as products.
- Accessing the Report: Go to your Report Menu and select the Classic Sales Report (0101).
- Comparing Time Periods: Use the Time Period dropdown to select the periods you want to compare.
For example, compare the last four weeks to the same four weeks last year.
- Advanced Filter: Use Advanced Filter to narrow your view by product, store, or other specifics.
- Viewing by Product:
At default, this report shows your results by Retailer and Category.
Right-click on the Grand Total and select Show Me Product to add product numbers to the report.
Additional product features like description, key code, and barcode can be added via the Select Attribute dropdown.
Don’t forget to click Krunch after making your selections.
- Report Output: The report will display the comparisons between the selected time periods along with variances.
Weekly Trend Report (S12)
The Weekly Trend Report provides a week-by-week analysis of your retail sales data. You can choose to also run the data for the same number of weeks for last year for year on year comparison. This report can be ‘drilled down’ to store level giving you the ability to run year on year data for stores as well as products.
- Accessing the Weekly Trend Report: Navigate to the Report Menu and select the Weekly Trend Report (S12)
- Setting the Trend Period: Use the Time Period dropdown to choose the number of weeks for which you want to see the trend.
By default, the report shows data for this year.
Incorporating Last Year’s Data: At default, the report shows data for this year.
You can add last year’s data by including sales and stock measures for the previous year by using the Measures dropdown.
- Adding Product Details: Right-click on the Grand Total and select Show Me Product if you require product-level information.
Additional product features can be selected from the Select Attributes dropdown.
Remember to click Krunch after setting your selections.
- Final Output: The report will display a weekly trend for the selected weeks along with comparisons to the same weeks last year.
- Graphing your results: Use the graph option for a visual interpretation of your data.
