Finding your Out of Stocks in krunchbox

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to check if your products are in stock at the store level using krunchbox. This article will be exploring the Out of Stock 4 Week Detail Dashboard and the Out of Stocks (S1) Report

Out of Stock 4 Week Detail Dashboard

Navigate to the Dashboards Menu 

Go to the Grow Your Business section. 

Select the Out of Stock for a Week detailed dashboard.

Dashboard Overview: 

The dashboard consists of multiple tabs to view product and store-level data. 

In this article, we focus on the Product Summary and Store Summary tabs. 

Tabs

Product Summary Tab 

The Product Summary tab displays key information for each product over the past four weeks. At default, Products are sorted by unit sales

Displayed Information: 

  • Product Name
  • Number of Stores Reporting: Total number of stores reporting on the product.
  • Percentage of Reporting Stores: Percentage of stores that reported on the product.
  • Out of Stock Count: Number of stores currently out of stock for that product.
  • Sales Over Last Four Weeks
  • Current Stock on Hand (Weeks Cover)

 

To view stock details for a specific product: 

  • Click on the product name. 
  • A new tab will open showing stock information for that product across each store. 
  • Check the Out of Stock column: if the number is greater than 0, the product is out of stock in that store.

Store Summary Tab 

The Store Summary tab provides information on each store’s performance: Stores are sorted by unit sales. 

Displayed Information: 

  • Store Name
  • Product Count: Number of products each store has reported on over the last four weeks.
  • Out of Stock Count: Number of products currently out of stock in the store.
  • Sales Over Last Four Weeks
  • Current Stock on Hand
  • Week’s Cover

 

To view detailed sales and stock data for a store: 

  • Click on the store name. 
  • A new tab will display sales in stock for all products within that store. 
  • The Add of Stock column indicates if there are out-of-stock items (a number greater than 0 confirms this). 
  • To return to the full list of stores, use the drill up option at the top of the tab.

Filtering for Specific Out of Stock Data 

If you want to drill down into out-of-stock data by category, state, or other criteria, use the filters provided: 

  • Product Filters: Narrow down by specific products or features. 
  • Store Filters: Filter stores based on location or other characteristics.

Find the Out of Stocks report under the Reports section. 

Menu

  Select your retailer and then choose a category.

Best Practice Settings: 

Base Week: Keep your base at the most current week. 

Status Filter: Filter out inactive or discontinued products. 

NOTE: Ensure your product master is updated for the best filtering results.

Net Sales Data: For retailers that supply net dollars data, select Net Sales Excluding Tax in the measures. 

Attribute Filter: Add a description to clearly identify the products under review. 

Top Products Selection: Choose between displaying the top 10, 20, 30, 50, or all products. (In this example, the Top 20 is selected). 

Sales Period: 

Select the number of weeks of sales data to determine the average rate of sale and prioritize effectively. (In this example, we use four weeks)

Filter for Genuine Sales: To filter out products with zero sales over the period.

  • Apply a filter on Sales Units with the condition greater than 0.
  • Removing this filter will display product-store combinations with no sales over the period, which may indicate other issues such as prolonged out-of-stock conditions.

True Sales

Finding Opportunities by Value: 

By Product: Drag the product description to the front and collapse the store details. Then, sort by Net Sales Dollars in descending order. 

By Store: Drag the store name to the front and collapse product details. Then, sort from the highest to lowest sales values.

If net sales data is unavailable from your retailer, consider using RRP Including Tax after updating the product master. 

Summary: Focus on the largest values and highlight these opportunities for your field teams.

Review Your Data: Regularly check both the Product Summary and Store Summary tabs as well as the detailed reports to stay updated on out-of-stock opportunities.
